July 29

My dear Hooker

It rejoices my heart that you will come here next Saturday, & I hope nothing will prevent you, but remember should any thing occur you must not put yourself out to give me pleasure great though that will be.1

If you have Willy or Charley with you we should be most glad to see them.2

yours affectionately | C. Darwin

If you can lay your hand on Adam Bede bring it back.—3
