Dear Sir
I write merely to acknowledge your letter of Oct. 20th, & to thank you very sincerely for your offers of assistance. I am also much obliged for the copy of the instructions which you have been good enough to send me; & particularly for your kindness in translating & inserting the questions on expression.1
Should I hereafter think of any other points about which I want information I will take the liberty of troubling you.
You have my most sincere good wishes for your success in every way during your great voyage—2
With much respect I beg leave to remain dear Sir | yours very faithfully | Charles Darwin
