My dear Sir

I have never seen the Drosophyllum.— It is described as somewhat shrubby, with narrow elongate leaves, studded with glandulose hairs, as in Drosera; it was indeed called a Drosera by Linnæus.—1 It grows in sandy places in Portugal, Andalusia & Teneriffe; & as I said has lately been found near Gibraltar.— My object, if I cd get a living specimen, is to compare its habits & structure with Drosera, on which I have made very numerous observations still unpublished.2

With very many thanks | Yours very faithfully | Ch. Darwin
