From J. V. Carus   18 April 1870

61, Grosvenor Street | London, W.

Apr 18. 1870.

My dear Sir,

I am so sorry I cannot come on Thursday, as I must be back in Leipzig Saturday.1 It is my fault not to have written to you before. But always trying to get on with the work I undertook I looked upon a visit in your house as a sort of premium after toilsome weeks.

I must then ask you to allow me to come and see you in the autumn.2

With the best wishes for your health believe me | Ever yours sincerely, | J. Victor Carus

Carus did not visit CD in the autumn, being prevented by the Franco-Prussian war (see letter from J. V. Carus, 2 October 1870).
