To W. E. Darwin   [November 1871]1

My dear W.

I am heartily obliged— You gave me much labour— Your suggestions & corrections are very good. I have taken some & shd have taken more, had they not broken so many lines of close print.2

In altering false letter draw vertical line through it,

as in word “and”—and n/

Put mark ^ when comma omitted, & on the margin ,/

Put x where blurred letter.

I fear it is much labour to you.
