CD communicated Airy’s paper on phyllotaxy (Airy 1873) to the Royal Society of London. CD also refers to Airy’s father, George Biddell Airy. See letter from Hubert Airy, 3 January 1873.
The copy is written on the back of a letter from Airy to George Gabriel Stokes, the secretary of the Royal Society.
