Dear Talbot
You are aware or perhaps may not have been aware, that I have been suffering for a long time from the severe consequences of a fall. I should otherwise have called particularly with the hope of seeing your daughter & her husband 1 – but the odious weather (except for skaters) has hitherto prevented my venturing so far, even in a carriage – in the mean time let me ask whether Mr & Mrs G. Clarke, & you & Mrs Talbot 2 will dine here on monday or tuesday at 7 & shall be glad to see any of you who will
Yours sincerely
