Airy

March 31 - 72

The distce between the 2 lines y have posited out for the umbra for all of the Eclipses I have estimated roughly on a map as being about 400 miles.

Supposing the true path to have been midway between them, it wd have passed 200 miles from Jaffa & 200 from Jura. Do you consider this distce too great for the eclipse to have been conspicuous at each place?

If nearby it may be diminished by supposing that [illegible] not yet reached the frontier of effect, but as still on the march-
