Dear Sir/

I understand that M^r Grosett ² is expected at the Abbey tomorrow & the family have been there for some time past – on the other side ³ is an Authority (copied from the Act of Parliam^t) which I have to request the favor of you to sign & date & return to me some day previous to the 13^th of September – as it will enable me to save the Auction Duty in case the Property should not fetch its estimated value – I had occasion to write to M^r King ⁴, respecting the Leaves & requested him to get this Authority signed, but in my Letter to him to day, I have informed him that I should send it to you at Clifton –
