Ancona,
Sunday night March 26. 1826
My Dear Mother
I dare say this will not reach you till many days after the large packet I sent this morning.– There seems a good chance of me going tomorrow evening – the weather is pleasant. I got a letter from William 1 today – I have made acquaintance with Mr Park 2 the Consul. This town is in decadence.
There is a Guercino 3 reckoned good, in the Cathedral, 4 but it has faults. The Ercolani & Marescalchi Galleries at Bologna are being sold; it is a pity. I have being reading the Budget all the evening –
Yours Afftly
