TALBOT1459

Sir,

In reply to your note 1 respecting the charge upon the parcel left for you at the Albany 2 we beg to inclose <sic> our Correspondent’s letter in which it was forwarded to you, and where you will observe the charge with which we are debited is B<illeg> 6.. 4/– of Hambro’. As we had a similar charge to pay the other day of abt B<illeg> 13– for which we had to give £1.. 1.. – Stg we thought that we should not be doing wrong to charge 10/– We however sent the enclosed Memorandum to Messrs Castendieck & Wendl – a most respectable house in the Hambro’ trade, as soon as we received your note and they confirm the amount in Ten shillings –

We trust this explanation will be satisfactory

& remain, Sir,
Your Most Obedt Servts

for Bingham Richards & Co.
J. I. McCracken.

8 King’s Arms Yard,

3d August 1826.

W H. F Talbot Esq.

(P. Turn over.)

P.S.
We should be obliged to you to return the letter from Messrs Turner & Brock.
