Domattina io sono invitato dal S^r Herschel ¹ a Slough, ed io mi porterò colà per passare l’intera giornata seco lui. Non potrò dunque trovarmi in casa a quell’ora che voi avete destinato di venir a prendere il Microscopio di Chevalier ² per mostrarlo al vostro amico. Ho dunque divisato di mandarvelo questa sera per mezzo del mio servitore. Se avrò tempo di rettificare il Microscopio di riflessione riceverete anche questo, giacché il S^r Robinson ³ ha raccomodato que’ piccoli danni che il trasporto aveva cagionati sulla montura. Lunedì andrò a Chelsea e solo martedì potrò avere il piacere di rivedervi. Intanto aggradite che in questa occasione io vi ripeta le assicurazioni della distinta stima con cui sono

Tomorrow morning I am invited to visit Mr Herschel in Slough, and I shall go there to spend the whole day with him. I will therefore not be able to be at home at the hour which you have set aside to come and collect Chevalier’s Microscope to show it to your friend.
