My dear Sir
I have uncovered a considerable part of the Chapel, 1 i.e the site of it, of the old monastery at this Place & it has occurred to me first that you would like to see it & secondly that perhaps you would kindly advise me how to preserve & to have a fac-simile made of what I have uncovered, by photography or otherwise, & how to proceed towards any further possible discoveries
To these ends will you do me the favor to lunch here on Thursday next at 1 – & I would then shew you what I have uncovered
I say Thursday because I have asked Canon Jackson 2 to come here also on that day & to lunch because you are within driving distance but any other day after Thursday, save Monday 18th would suit me as well & Lady Hobhouse 3 & I would offer you a bed if that would suit you better
