My dear Henry

I want to know if you are going to remain at Lacock for the present – & whether, if I can manage it, you & Constance 2 would like me to come & see you for a few days? It is quite uncertain whether I can come or not – but I should like much to come, while Ernestine 3 is making a little tour in Holland with Charlie. 4 It is one of the few countries he has not seen – & they want to see the tulips & hyacinths in bloom – so they propose starting on Thursday in Easter week. Would that time, or thereabouts suit you? Please let me know as soon as you can, as I shall have to arrange various matters.

How interesting that lecture of Dr Schliemann’s 5 was! At least the résumé I read in the Times. 6

I saw the name of a Mr Spedding 7 at the meeting. was it one of Rosamond’s 8 friends?

Val & the children 9 are here for a few days – they are such tall girls!

I hope you are all well at the Abbey, but I have heard nothing of you for ages! Give my love to Constance & my Nieces <10> & believe me

Yr affte Sister
Caroline

Do you remember a small plant you cherished in a pot, raised fm seed brought by Charlie fm Australia? There is a fine plant of it at Mt E. 10 out of doors – abt 3 ft high, covered with odd downy buds.
