Melbury 1
28th Oct.
My dear Henry
In case you get to England before the 4th of November you had better come on here, if afterwards meet us at Moreton. 2 Caroline & Horatia 3 have taken to riding, which has done them incalculable good, & there is the largest establishment of Ponies here I ever saw, they some times mount Edioni[?], sometimes Fatima, then Orontes then Matilda, then Grey Mullet cum multis aliis, 4 & I have not seen Horatia in such good spirits since Amandier 5 went away. We must set about enquiring for some such animals, particularly as North Wiltshire is better adapted for riding than Walking. In case you go to London this is to tell you that Mrs Campbell 6 & Ly Ilchester 7 are still in town, waiting for John, 8 & will be very glad if you call upon them. London is generally in the way every where, but you may find Coaches the Coast road from Dover through Southampton to Dorchester
