London

My Dear Mother,
Mrs Campbell 1 tells me you return to Moreton 2 on Thursday, and I will endeavour to be there on Friday – I am glad to see the improvements in this house; the pillars in the dining room look well, and the walls are painted a yellow which will light up well. The library is also new papered yellow; I have not been upstairs yet. Brighton looked so cheerful & gay in this fine weather that I wished to stay there a week or two and mix a little in society, but your letters were so pressing that I resolved not to stay there now, but to return there later in the season, which will be a little expense in coach hire, but nothing to signify. I met few people in Switzerland that I knew, so that I found my tour rather dull, but it answered to me in point of health which was my object in going there. Notwithstanding that, I shall be glad to see “the human face divine” 3 once more –
Giovanni 4 is in Town I expect him to call in a few minutes.
Your affte Son
Henry Talbot
I did enquire the last thing, for letters at Paris & Brighton; & found some.
Lady E. Feilding
