My Dear Horatia
I received your letter today, as well as one from Mamma 1 - We had a fog today to enliven us; I don't feel tempted to remain very long in the gaieties of the Metropolis, but hope to join you on Wednesday. I called today at Lansdowne House 2 but they are not expected. Perhaps Lord L's 3 letters to announce his arrival have miscarried. Brighton was very full, some of the people I know were D. of Devonshire Lord Holland, Essex, Dudley, John Russell. Lady Hardy 4 & daughter - Lady R. Fitzgerald 5- the Montagues (not the Fazakerlys) 6 Mrs Tennant & family of Nice) Lord Templeton 7 & Miss Upton, Lady G. Seymour & Miss Seymour - Charles Fox & Mrs Fox. Rogers - Hallam. Spring Rice. Col & Mrs Ellis. Major Keppel - 8 Charles Long, &c With all these people I thought the place not very agreeable
Your truly affte
Henry
