Dear Sir
I wrote you a letter 1 some days back to acquaint you that I should be at Glasgow upon enquiring at the Post Office I learnt that you had not sent for your letters I therefore ventured to trouble you with this to inform you that I am just gone to Dunkeld 2 I regret very much that I had not the good fortune to be there when you visited the Duke 3 as it would have been particularly gratifying if I had to me to have had the pleasure of seeing you there I should have been happy to have waited on you if I could have known for certain where I might have seen you I leave Dunkeld in a Week but I fear there is no chance of my seeing you in that direction I hope & trust you will agree to pull down the unfortunate projection at Lacock Abbey as I feel satisfied it will cost less & be much more convenient as well as a great improvement to the Elevation if you project the center of the gallery I will when I return to London have the pleasure of sending you another sketch for your consideration
I have the Honor to be with great respect your Obedient Humble Sert
Thos Hopper
PS I wrote this letter in great haste whilst the mail is waiting for it TH
