My Dear Henry

I lose not a moment in telling you we have altered our plans, from not having very good accounts of the Ferry’s, so we shall keep on Terra Firma. Friday Sunday therefore we shall return by Perth (for the twelfth time!) & sleep that night at Admiral Durham’s ² where we shall stay Monday & be at Edinburgh Tuesday. If you are inclined to come there to us, Monday will be your day

There is a spell in and about Perth – we cannot get away from it, nous tournons autor [sic] du pot ³
