My Dear Henry
I am very sorry you did not settle to come with us, as it seems Ly L 2 – expected you, knowing you were at Ravensworth. 3 She has said all that was civil, & desires me to write, so I send this by a special messenger, not to lose time. I entreat you will come here without loss of time, as it is really a plan to see, & you can never have a better opportunity. Never mind putting off Mrs Herbert, 4 it cannot signify to her the least which day you come, it is only to write another letter which is not much trouble.
I have had this morning letters from Lady Dundas 5 they are at home & will be very glad to see us, whether we go there or not we shall decide when you come. Ly L. has just said she will send a messenger with this, but I do not know how he can find you out, unless he leaves this at the Post office If he does find you, you can send an answer back by him, if not you can arrive without one it, as you are expected
