My Dear Mother,
I found Lady F. Leveson’s 1 last night was a ball, & I obtained an invitation thro’ Lady Lansdowne & Lady Cawdor 2 – The house is very splendid, and I believe very few had ever seen it before – There are quantities of people in town Among others I saw last night the Grantham’s Ravensworth’s Cowper’s Willoughby’s 3 Montagu’s Shelley’s Stormont’s St Maur’s Baring’s Villiers’s 4 – Mary Fox 5 the D. of Devonshire Mr Dudley the Fazakerley’s 6 &c –
Mrs Baring has a party tonight.
Yours affly
Henry
Lady Willoughby 7 told me she regretted exceedingly not seeing you at Grimsthorpe, but the house was so crowded that she was even obliged to put off her daughter Clementina.
Turn over
Pusey 8 has bought a seat in the H. of Commons – Porchester 9 is dying to get in, but can’t raise the cash. I think Lord L. 10 might very well have returned him.
I rowed Sandon 11 last night for voting against reform.
