My dear Henry

I send you a sketch for the window; some are of opinion it is too small for external beauty but if it was any larger, I am afraid it w^d weaken the wall inside; that is if the recess was a continuation of the same circle, which

is what I intended; however it is very easy to make one on a larger scale. I do not much like the corbling [sic] & ornaments at the top, or the clipping buttress; but if you approve of the sort of window, I can look out for something better. – I like the lower corbling very much as well as the blank space, between it & the lights, as that is necessary to give it lightness. – Papa ¹ desires me to say he advises you very much, if you do not want your pony till the summer, to turn him out at Hayward’s ² for 3 or 4 months; it will do him a great deal of good; he consulted Hayward, who is of the same opinion –
