Chippenham 1
3d March 1830
Dear Sir /
I have this Morning recd your favor of the 1st Inst & as soon as I get the Map from Mr Darley 2, will attend to your instructions about it – –
I am just going into Yorkshire for a few days & have desired my Son 3 to enclose the Prospectus of the Lacock Society & your Book from Messrs Gundrey & Co 4 in a Parcel, to the care of Lady Elizth 5 at the Abbey – I hope, in time to convey it to Town –– the Printer has been very much occupied lately with Bills for Sales in the Neighbourhood which has prevented his doing the Prospectus sooner –
I earnestly hope that it may not be necessary for the Parish to employ able bodied Labourers another year – but if it should, I think they would gladly embrace the Proposal wch you mention –
I am Dear Sir yr obliged Sert
W. H. Awdry
