Monday 20th December
31 Sackville Street 1
Dear Sir
I called upon you today, but I had not the pleasure of finding you at home; I wished to ask you to engage a few of your friends to recommend me to the Royal Society, as my name has been proposed as a candidate for adoption. 2
Believe me to remain Yours very truly
