Brighton
Sunday
My dear Henry
I write merely to say we have not changed our minds but mean to set off Tuesday. Unluckily Gwynne 1 has been seized to day with a swelled face which prevents her attending to business, and will be very inconvenient to My lord Castle comer. The Ball at the Pavillon after all was not so very crowded as I dreaded, being only 700 that actually came, tho’ they say 11 hundred were invited a number of strange quizzes as you may suppose. Many came twenty miles & returned the same Night, amongst others Ld & Ly Sheffield 2 & Lord Liverpool 3 & all his 3 daughters.
Take care to order them not to set fire to the Abbey in airing it for us. What a <illegible> it will be to leave London on the very day all the interesting debates will take place! We were at a charming soirée last night at Lady Belfast’s, 4 on the whole I can see your Sisters 5 are very sorry to leave Brighton. These last 3 weeks have been very agreeable
