TALBOT2178

London

Apl. 26th

Dear Henry

I have not lost a moment in writing to Ibbeston 1 on receiving your letter 2 & should have done so without waiting for it, had it not been for our conversation with Scrope, 3 who I am glad to find hath withdrawn

I have called his attention particularly to Gale – I do not know whether Humphrey’s 4 (of Ivy House) has a vote or not but as he has always professed himself personally as well as politically a friend of mine, my wishes might have some weight with him.

Yours Truly

Lansdowne

Cambridge looks ill – doubtfull at best – but in general our reports are good.
