My Dear Talbot
Your note 1 having gone round Via Cambridge & reached me thro’ Sundry Cross-posts will I am afraid delay my answer beyond the time of your departure northward. I should have liked a tour among lakes & mountains with you very much but I am now on a visit to my Mother for a month & as I have been away from home all the long vacation & the family are most of them assembled there are too many devices going on to be easily given up – I spent two months very pleasantly at Bowood 2 when cricket & Plato drove politics out of the field. The latter however prevail here & the & the union of a discussion as to the future representation for the N Y North R 3 of Yorks in the mouth of an aspirant to that honour & his requisitionists drive me to a Conclusion
I admire Lacock particularly & hope hereafter to see you in Situ
Ever yours
