My Dear Henry
I write by Mr Feilding’s 1 desire to know who is to pay for the Mushroom seed &c for which Fitzsimmons 2 has brought him in a Bill. He thinks he should not pay for it more than other garden seeds – particularly as he has paid for manure (necessary to be procured when our horses are not in the stables here which sometimes is for months together) and for Sea Kale covers (necessary for forcing it early) and for fire always for the hot house whenever it has any. If you answer this by return of post we shall get your answer before we set off Tuesday Morng. – I am sorry I neglected to give you Miles & Edwards 3 which he gave me for you six weeks ago, & which is now in my drawer, but I suppose it will keep.
Horatia 4 has been distributing her prizes to the Sunday school Children, & I think by their looks they preferred her Clokes & Shawls & Bonnets to all Miss Awdry’s 5 good Books.
We sent some pheasants in your name to Mr Awdry at Wray [sic] Bridge, having ascertained that he is not in the habit of killing his own –
Tuesday Eveng we shall I hope meet
