departure and luckily we had only one party – (the Lancers ball) this week – and one for next Tuesday (the Military Ball) A dinner & private Ball for next week we have declined. – for it is impossible to be going out & packing at the same time – Ela 1 has received your letter today, and I suppose will make her own thanks. The Book arrived yesterday. and we have hidden it away till tomorrow morning, when it will meet her eye on the breakfast table. – Rosd & Matilda 2 took their last lesson of Mr Gourlay Steell 3 today – and I am certain they have profitted much by his instruction; only it is to be regretted he could not have begun with them sooner.
