TALBOT2548

Green Street

Friday –

Dear Henry –

As I find you are in Town we intend to leave a card for Mrs Fox Talbot 1 today, but such a formal proceeding by no means satisfies me, and I hope you will take the first opportunity of bringing her here, to introduce us to each other – & before Wednesday if possible because I go out of town that day for a week – If you would or could fix any hour Tuesday, We would take care to be at home – Saturday we are much engaged, & go to the drawingroom Monday, but Sunday between Church hours would do – Our Juvenile Vagrant Society is prospering famously – By the by you promised to be a subscriber I think two years ago – all I will ask from you is s5 · annual & a cheerful reception to a petition which Mr Portman will present to the House of Commons about Wednesday or Thursday in next week – short & sweet – My Brother 2 will present its counterpart in the House of Lords, & this is a great matter because till this last week he was by no means a convert to the cause – Government are most favorable – Will you undertake to mention the subject to Christopher 3 who also promised me a donation or subscription or something of the kind, which I do not think he ever bestowed –

Yrs truly

A. M. Murray
