Dear Sir
I have had a very severe feverish attack & can just lay pen to paper – however I will not delay thanking you for yr kind suggestions – My intenti 1 if I had been well enough was to have affirmed the standard & moved for a select comtte into the expanding of a conjoint silver & gold standard, or silver alone – & into a better regulated system of banking & of issue, This to have comprehended both [1 P?] notes & B. of E. notes being legal tender except from the Banks You need be under no alarm for the latter – under the Rose I was told by him who knows best – That govt intended proposing it – and Lord Althorp 2 from what he sd to me the other night will I think place no insuperable objection agnt an enquiry into a silver standard – But when it is to be brought on is the question –
Yours vy Truly
