My dear Sir,

I suspected a mistake in the Returns concerning Malmesbury, but in order to justify any proceeding upon it, the case ought to be stated by petition to the House of Commons, from some known authority in the place – as Mayor, Corporation &c

You may easily have such a statement drawn up, & placed in the hands of one of the County Members –
