TALBOT2760

Laycock abbey
14 November

My Dear Henry

I have done what you desired 1 & sent to engage Edward 2 for you from the 1st December. He has been again with Lord Mt E. 3 but only on a job, & luckily is just now free. Franklin 4 is placé 5 as Butler, but you cannot want two men servants during December & January while you are here, nor can Constance 6 be in any distress for a Maid amongst all ours – & I earnestly entreat you not to take them in a hurry as good servants do not grow on every tree. I have inquired as you wished me to do so, but it is not so easy as you seem to imagine. I advise you to [illegible] your oars & not take either Valet or Femme de Chambre 7 rashly – Edward is all you can really want till the meeting of Parliament. I write à la hâte 8 having been all the Morning at Bowood 9 but must catch the foreign post. Mr F. 10 begs you will inquire again at the Embassy for Letters, you had better do so the last thing before you leave Paris

Mr Monsr Talbot
Paris
