TALBOT2761

Laycock abbey
19 Novr.

My Dear Henry

I wrote to you on business a few days ago, which you will find chez le Suisse. 1 I was surprized to hear you were to bring one of Bimbo’s 2 nurses to take the place of Cordelia 3 on your carriage, as I concluded you would have parted with one of them in Italy not to have to lug it home. At Milan they give great prices for English carriages, at Calais they are a drug. It was not true that Miss Yorke 4 would not keep Cordelia, she was ill & wished to return home to recover her health, & Miss York [sic] was going on to Italy.

Horatia & Lady Charlotte Butler & Mr F. 5 are gone for two days to Farley Castle, I preferred staying here alone which I have never been yet at this place. I long to see your dear face again, after five long months! Pray don’t waste your substance by remaining longer in London than absolutely necessary, indeed it would be much more œconomical to avoid London & come across the Country, as people from Paris cannot possibly want anything in London, and Edward 6 would meet you here. I hope Constance 7 received my answer

Adieu
