My dear Henry
I omitted yesterday to ask if you could possibly obtain for me the girth of the 4 Sisters1 at any specified height from the ground, without too much trouble? Being close to Lacock perhaps it may be possible, & one measurement would be a great help. If too much trouble you must consider that I have not asked it – & if I do not hear in a week, I shall know that you are unable to procure it.

In my List of Royal dates St Edmund 2 (St omitted) is said after having been conquered in Essex to have been murdered at Oxford. This must be wrong, but I have almost forgotten my Saxon History.
