TALBOT2917

Thursday

My Dear Henry

Our going to Bath seems a natural moment to part with James, 1 particularly as Mr M. is not coming, therefore pray by return of post signify your pleasure respecting him, as Mr F. 2 wishes to keep him no longer than to know it. He wrote you word all about wages &c &c but knowing you are very apt to mislay papers in your pockets in the unfathomable depths of which they can seldom be found, it is best to repeat it here viz: 40 guineas as a house servant, & 42 to go with the Carriage this includes finding his own clothes, which must save you of all people a world of trouble, you not being a manner of Man to think much & deeply about Liveries.

I like him very much, tho’ sometimes his manner is a little out of the common way but nothing that signifies – & he is quite trustworthy –

So no more at present from Yours
E F
