TALBOT3087

London
May 16th

My Dear Mother

I received your letter and Caroline’s 1 the same day – I answered hers by return of post – I conclude you left Nice on the 14th according to your latest determination, but whether you are gone East or West or North; towards England or from it, is more than I can guess from anything you have said –

Ela 2 is today three weeks old she has never had the least ailment of any kind. – I hope she means to be very intelligent – Constance 3 is better, she gets a good deal of sleep now the want of which was the cause of her illness – She recognised today that she was in her own room in Sackville St 4 –

I am glad to hear Horatia 5 has been amusing herself so well with musical composition – I wish she was coming home. –

Hedworth Lambton 6 is going to be married it is said to Miss Anna Bushe, 7 who I think a very pleasing person – Your description of the Spring at Nice is enchanting. – I wish it were not so far from England –

Yours affly
Henry
