My Dear Henry

Caroline 1 gives such a delicious description of the dear old Abbey & the [fioridose?] chiome 2 that surround it, & the perfumes & delights of the Alcove, that it makes me long more than ever to see it. Were there a rail road I should have been there long ago, but I dont know how it is, the Moment one sets one’s foot in England money makes to itself wings & flies away in all directions. Horatia 3 has been very ill with the Influenza & still keeps her bed – the fever was very high for two days. This will make her thinner than ever – She caught the cold which began it, at Mr Hope’s 4 Ball

I make out from Caroline that you will be here Thursday
