TALBOT3343

London
28 July

I am desired to tell you that the stand may be ready in one or two Months at the outside one is at present in a forward state. I conclude you will know what all this means. – Your Uncle Ilchester & Mr F. 1 have seen (they say) a much prettier Turkey carpet since, & I am going an immense way this morning beyond the Bank, to look at it. Would you mind its being rather larger, if it is much prettier? answer this. We stay for a Breakfast at Chiswick & therefore cannot leave town till Tuesday. I think that will be our last delay.

Did you ask Constance 2 about that volume of Boileau? 3

What have you decided about rooms at Bristol? I saw in the Papers some thing about preparations being made there to receive the Savans, 4 but perhaps that meant only in the day time

William 5 wants very much to be at the meeting, & thinks Lord P. 6 will be propitious – but cannot be certain yet.
