My Dear Henry
I forgot to mention that the Lights of the Greenhouse suffered much in the last Storm, the glass blown out & shivered to atoms. Shall I have an estimate made of the repairs it would require? Otherwise it will soon be in the condition of the Penrice 1 Conservatory. all this is owing to Fitzsimons 2 not painting it every year as he ought to have done, by which means the wood work got loosened from the glass. I take little interest in it except for your sake, for I seldom set my foot in it. The Old Juniper which was so much enfeebled by the snow last winter, is damaged so much that I should be inclined to cut it down & let it rise from its ashes with more vigour, besides those old shrubs should be cut de tems en tems 3 unless they are annually pruned which that has not been. I have got from London the six superlative Fruit trees which Reid 4 is busily employed to day in planting, in the new scientific manner They are very Dear
