My dear Henry
I well remember as indeed how can I forget, your kindness in twice giving me £500, & I have long wished, without much hope, to replace some part at least of what your amiable & generous feelings prompted you to give me in those days of my comparative poverty. I am now happy in being able to do so & hope you will not hesitate to receive from me £500 which I have in hand. I only wish I had a larger sum of disposeable money at present, for nothing in the world would give me so much pleasure as now that your expences are increasing, being able to add to your comfort & happiness, who have in so many ways contributed to mine –
I have additional pleasure in giving it to you at this moment having heard from your mother 1 that you are about receiving $1500 for the sale of Fisherton2 which my 500 will make up £2000 giving you an addition of £80 to your income –
Your mother has told you all about our place Moore 3 you will see in town next week – I have not been so well lately perhaps change of air to London may agree with me as to you Mother she is out all day & very happy filling up the old pond into which she has thrown with her own hands sundry bits of stick & pieces of earth – we have had no Visitors since Kit 4 departed
