My dear Henry

There is a fine Aloe ² preparing to flower at Margam. ³ I have been there today and lose no time in sending you the intelligence that you may make up your mind to come & pay us a visit this autumn on purpose to see it, as you won’t come to see us! – I think it has grown five feet in the last month; there was no appearance of any such intention before that time the Gardener tells me, he fancies the hot weather has made it think of flowering. –

I hope you are enjoying the Roses & Honeysuckles at Lacock now the rainy days make the alternate fine ones more prized and the flowers smell sweeter I think. – Pray give my kind love to your dear wife & the Children –

I am your aff^ate coz
Mary

Mamma ⁴ is pretty well. we have been most agreeably surprised by an unexpected visit from D^r & M^rs Fowler ⁵ who have been prevailed on to extend their two days visit into a week and are so much charmed with all we have shewn them that it is quite pleasant to take them about –
