TALBOT368

<illegible >

Dear Henry

I wish I could help you to a gardener 1 – I do not know anyone of the Abb 2-School for you –

I continue to receive beautiful things from Abb I took this morning a Cargo to Mr Anderson 3 who is worth cultivating.

Among them was a Dianthus ciliatus a non ciliando Aster sericeus & another – Leptospermum juniperinum & rosmarinifolium – an odd sticky leafy shrub with pale yellow ringent flower in a shell shape name unknown. Crocus sativus, Colchicum montanum, Oxalis variabilis, Bignonia grandiflora – &c. &c. –

I am curious to see your sympathetic ink 4. We have cyphers, but besides trouble – the great risk of mistakes (which are serious) prevents their being much used now for long papers – besides several of the old ones are known & they must be changed from time to time

Nobody ever has a Cypher with a key nowadays for general use in an Office – they are all regular Grammars & Dictionarys on no divinable principle & therefore & on account of their copiousness difficult to compose, to use, & to be discovered.

Do you know two plants by name of Saxifraga hirta?
