By your last received this morning it appears you do not yet understand about Lord N. 1 – I was sitting next to Lady Mary Anne 2 at Lady Londonderry’s 3 ball & told her in the course of conversation, I would send the Photographs 4 to her Father’s before the meeting of Savans – I afterwards found that from forgetting that Fox Talbot was my son, he imagined that they were some pretended new discovery tending or trying to injure your reputation, and which therefore he did not wish to encourage, & it was for this stupidity he afterwards amply apologized. I did not send the Persian Newspaper with the others, having no frame for it.
They had all remained ever since in a dark part of the room, covered with a napkin, & were not the least faded.
Won’t you buy the book with the compliment to you in it?
William 5 wants to know if he shall find you at home next Saturday Evening the 7th March? He has great thoughts of taking you in his way to Abbotsbury 6
