Will you be pleased “of your bountie to bestow” on me a Photograph of Lacock Abbey and Church? which I want for a special purpose – I have been busily Engaged with Charlotte Traherne ² in arranging for their reception, and I am sure you will be very much interested when you see the Family Collections ³ I have made. I wrote to you some time ago, asking if you could send me a Pho: with yourself therein depicted, ⁴ but as you took no notice of my request, perhaps you never received the letter or perhaps were displeased at the request!!! This reminds me of the unfortunate Titlepage – we were shewing your splendid present to some friends a few days ago, when I sadly felt the lack of an explanation of the Books –. We hope very much that you are better –. William S. & his Bride ⁵ are at Normanby ⁶ but going to settle at Abb. ⁷ forthwith. I suppose you know that Jane ⁸ &c are going “par command” to Nice immediately.
