Dear Sir,

I called at the Royal Society soon after I saw you, for the purpose of ordering the suspension of countermanding the printing of your paper in the proceedings: but I found that this had already been done, until further directions from y^e Council y^e opinion of y^e Council on y^e subject of your intended applicat^n. could be collected [illegible deletion] but I found that I was too late the paper ¹ having being already been printed.
