TALBOT5163

London
22d Jany 1845

My Dear Mother

I have no objection to the plan, unless the ditch is necessary for draining the land. When you have filled it up, suppose a quagmire should result?

The appearance of my second number 1 is delayed by a mistake of the Binder’s who has bound the copies wrong. I shall read the Examiner on your recommendation, but I find the mass of hebdomadal and quotidian intelligence a great evil

Your affte
Henry
