TALBOT5165

Lacock Abbey
Thursday –

My dear Henry

You must have thought me forgetful to forward your letters – but in fact there have been none for you – I heard you were going to Sandgate on Saturday. 1 – I wonder whether you will take a fancy to its looks – You should also take a look at Brighton & compare the two. – Tomorrow Lady Elisabeth 2 is going to Bowood 3 – to meet Lady Caroline Sandford. – Horatia 4 went there yesterday. – On Tuesday Lady Lansdowne & Lady Louisa 5 were here – both in the highest possible spirits – I am still busy canvassing for those charities – and have had one or two answers to my letters. – but doubtful as to the amounts of assistance. – Miss Talbot 6 gave a very good account of Lady Mary 7 which I will enclose for your perusal – I believe the Trahernes 8 are expected to visit Lacock when they leave Minterne but the day is at present doubtful –

I am so pleased with dear good Horatia undertaking to write to Several people for me and Lady Elisabeth actually is writing 2 or 3 today – Hallam 9 says the Infant is very likely to succeed –

I am so glad no 2 10 looks well. You will bring some numbers copies down with you I hope – for I am very impatient to see them. – Lady Lansdowne told us she had been at Sloperton 11 & heard that Tom 12 was shortly expected home – What will he do then I wonder! –

Your affectionate
Constance –

All of us are florishing [sic] –
Can you make time to visit Aunt Matilda 13? – it would please her so much & I don’t believe she has seen you of an age –
