TALBOT5241

Lacock Abbey

April 29.

My dear Henry

I enclose the note received this morning from Miss Cotton 1 – you will see that she accedes to my proposal but cannot come immediately. – Perhaps ten days hence will be as likely to suit in regard to my proposed absences as any other time – Miss C. seems to like the thoughts of coming –

William Humphries 2 has performed extremely well today – and I do not therefore feel at all anxious for George’s 3 return – I have kept the Hall door locked as I proposed – Mr Jennings 4 has lent me the Pony to use till he meets with a purchaser. I tried him today – and no animal could go more quietly. –

Ela & Rosamond 5 are a little better today – but their colds still very uncomfortable. It is unlucky for Ela, who was improving so nicely –

Yr affte

Constance –
