TALBOT5432

17. Beaumont St Oxford

Dear Sir <ill. del>

I have tried the method of transcription that you suggest but I find it is more confusing it in these and I really cannot write it so quick as my own.

May not the character <cuneiform> stand either for <cuneiform> or <cuneiform> in the latter case it wd mean I suppose "Pani" "in the presence of" or "Witnessed by"

I forget exactly how the name of Selencus is written but isn’t the second group a variation of <cuneiform>? And the third stands I think either for Ki or Ku –

I will send you some "pincushion" tablets as soon as I get back to London –

Believe me yours very Truly
